My sweet hubby surprised me with a night out, just the two of us!
Angel's was our yummy destination and it was wonderful-
down town, elegant dining...
and delicious entrees!

I just love going into downtown Boise.

I love the city!
I think I would consider myself a city girl who fell in love with a country boy :)
so needless to say heading down town was just what this girl wanted!

Thanks baby for your thoughtful treat!

hElLo SpRiNg

This year we brought in the first day of spring with a blizzard!
What, we're not in Rexburg anymore?!
Yes it's true.
While my parents were enjoying 80 degree weather over on the east coast,
we were baring this crazy snow fall.
The snow didn't stick much, but it was coming down sideways all morning!

Wanting to avoid the crazy weather,
Bry and I stayed inside and filled our day with lots of books,
 playing trucks,
 snuggling while watching Cars,
eating yummy treats and napping :)

Hoping this spring will turn out better and the snow will stay up in the mountains!

A note to spring:

hElLo SpRiNg,
Please come and stay! Push winter up north and bring in the sunshine, light rain & the 65-70 degree weather that we all have been waiting for so patiently :) Winter has been long and we have kiddos that are aching to play OUTSIDE and mamas who are in much need of some walking (me for sure! :)
Thanks!

Happy Spring to ALL!!

Like Father like Son

We recently had a little car trouble,
our battery died.
So off the boys went to fix it.
Although the whole $200 repair wasn't so fun,
I cherish these sweet little moments of big B and little B!

Bry is a very good little helper,
always cleaning,
throwing things in the trash (when they are "gaw gone"..aka "all gone"),
helps mommy with the laundry (remember this?),
and loves to vacuum!
 I love my little B!

FHE Sushi Night!!

For a little while now we have been wanting, as a family, to learn how to make sushi.
Ben and I were especially excited because we especially LOVE sushi- we are "could eat sushi every single day" kind of people :)
Our good friends Emily & Daunt were kind enough to have all us Hessing's over for a combined FHE of sushi making, KFC eating (for those who do not prefer raw fish) and pinterest dessert trying!

I recently saw this particular sWeEt SeNsaTion on pinterest that looked amazing,
so I went ahead and tried it for our little get-together!

(FYI: I like to call it "Joy in a Pan" :)

I made a few minor adjustments for my personal preferance and it still turned out pretty tasty and was a hit at FHE :)

Left to right:
Me, Ben, Travis, Emily, Amanda (trying to get out of the picture) and Natalie

We made California rolls and Maki sushi rolls,
they were scrumptious!!

Thanks Emily & Amanda for teaching us!!

Krispy Kreme anyone?

With Krispy Kreme donuts on the brain,
Bry & I headed off to indulge in our cravings ;)

...and man was it delicous!!!

I love our little day dates Bry,
the only thing that would make it better if Daddy-o was with us.

A Splendid Snowy Birthday Weekend!!

For my birthday this year
(which was almost a month ago, and I'm now just blogging it- I know pathetic, but better late than never, right?!)
my wonderful husband took little B and I up to Cascade where we stayed at the Hessing's cabin.
It's a great getaway from the hustle and bustle of Boise.
With it's cozy wood burning stove, snow covered pines, perfect sledding hills, comfy big couches to cuddle up for a movie and all the hot cocoa you want, it's the perfect "staycation."
This year all I wanted for my special day
was to be with my two special, most favorite boys in the world!!

It was extra special when some old/new friends joined us for a night!
It was really the perfect weekend-thank you Benny for making it so amAzIng!!

The following pictures pretty much sum up the weekend...

Bryson eating SNOW, he rEaLLy liked it :)
Kaylie and little B all ready for some sledding!

Jonathon and Kaylie- thanks for making the drive up to Cascade, the weekend wouldn't have been the same without you!
Snowmobiling with this hottie is the BeST!!
Our new/old friends!
(New because first time meeting Jonathan, old because Kaylie and I go way back to playing house, American girl dolls and barbie dress up when we were 4 :)
First time little B went on the trail with us and I'm telling you he LOVED it-and then got a little sleepy and fell asleep in daddy's arms!

Our cozy getaway cabin!
THANK YOU boYs for being the bEsT & for making this a splendid snowy birthday weekend!
The sUnShinE in my life!

Coolest Dude ever right??!! HA

Stanley Trip 2012

Every year the Hessing family takes a trip up to
Northern Idaho-Stanley Idaho to be exact.
A pretty large group of us (this year we had 22) snowmobile up into the mountains, stay at a cozy lodge in Stanley, sled all day and get to enjoy all the breath taking scenes.
The mountains in the Northern Idaho are suraly unforgettable and the views we get the opportunity to see are just incredible.
It is so wonderful to get the chance to truly admire the Lord's amazing work.

Those are the saw tooth mountains in the background :)
Stopped for a bit of hot lunch!
Just before heading out for the day!
Chris (my mother-in law) and Bri (my sister in-law)

The whole Hessing crew!
We had a blast! It was an awesome trip!
Even though we missed our little B, it was great to enjoy the beautiful outdoors together and have some one on one time :)
Looking forward to next year!
