Our weekend getaway

This past weekend we headed south for a few days to visit with my family.
It has been soo much fun living close to them.
For the past 6 years, I've been the girl who got to see her family 1-2 times a year,
now it's more like 1-2 a month-YAY!!
I LOVE IT!
Although I miss our family in Idaho dearly, it has been such a blessing to finally have my little boy and hubby get to know my side of the family a little more!

The weekend started off with a few rain showers...
which of course Bryson couldn't resist playing in!

Then some pumpkin patch pickin was in order,
so we headed out on the most beautiful fall day and picked our favorites!

It was so fun to see how much our little B enjoyed the tractor ride and running around the pumpkin patch!
After our pickin' we headed inside this quaint little market nearby and picked up some freshly made apple cider donuts, mega apples (perfect for carmel apples), fried dough smothered in powdered sugar & cinnamon and hot, delicious apple fritters...mmmm :)

Sunday brought beautiful colors, majestic sunshine and the perfect opportunity to capture this incredible autumn season,
so we headed out.

While Ben ran around with Bry,
I walked around my parents yard and tried to capture how truly marvelous the day was.
I am definitely no photographer, but hopefully years from now I will atleast be able to remember how magical this fall day was!

After packing up the car and getting ready to leave
I walked outside to find this little boy wearing these huge boots.
We all laughed as we enjoyed watching him attempt to walk, he was so determined to make it work!
Although he did a good job trying, those boots were just 10 sizes too big and it was a very good thing he was wearing his bike helmet!

Thanks Mom and Dad for such a fabulous weekend!!

Was that our exit??

Getting lost in a city is nothing like getting lost in the country.
All it takes is one wrong turn and you are headed for disaster.
In Idaho when you got off on the wrong exit it is always just a quick u-turn and you are back on your way,
no mercy like that here.

After leaving the park the other day, we headed off in hopes to find a nearby Panda Express, just 2.5 miles from where we were.
No such luck!
We took one wrong exit and ended up across the bay, headed for the airport-oops ;/
Before we knew it we were almost 7 miles from where we wanted to be, had paid over $5 in tolls, went through an underground tunnel, over several bridges and found ourselves on the MIT campus.
I guess it wasn't so bad,
after all we did get a grand tour of the city :)

And since we gave up,
after an hour of driving,
to ever satisfying our cheap Chinese food craving,
we headed home.
Not without first spotting a ma & pa pizzeria tucked away in a corner.
We stopped off for some scrumptious mega slices and filled up our tummies :)

Mass Ave. Pizza Shop

After putting Bry down, we enjoyed a little romantic comedy
and indulged in these soft, gooey delights :)

Turned out to be a better day than we thought!

I love the fall!!!

Ohh how I LOVE, LOVE the FALL!!
The crisp air,
beautiful foliage,
cool breezes,
sunny afternoons,
smells of apple and pumpkin spice,
warm apple cider & hot cocoa after a chilly rain,
perfect hiking/jogging/strolling weather
and
the exciting anticipation of upcoming holidays!!-
I LOVE IT ALL!

Since Ben had no classes,
and it was a perfect autumn afternoon-
we headed out to the park!

We had such an amazing time running around with our little crazy boy!
We are soo blessed to be his parents, he always makes us laugh and gives us an excuse to play around and be kids again ;)
We love you Bryson!!

...and are soo excited for our little darling to arrive!
We can't stop thinking about what it will be like having 2 kiddos,
and especially having a boy and a girl!

It's been such a blast having a little play in the dirt,
race cars around the family room,
  motorcycle and snowmobile loving
little monster...
but I think having a little girl might be a tad different :)

We're excited for the adventure/challenge ;)
To our sweetest Halle/Audrey/Ashlynn/?? -
we LOVE you and can't wait to hold you in our arms!

Bring on the PINK,
the dolls,
the barbies,
sweet little dresses,
leggings/tights and
all the GloRiOus giRly GoOds that come with having a GIRL!!

23 Weeks and growing...

A rainy autumn day...

Despite the cold, rainy wind,
Bryson was thrilled to be free from our apartment for a little bit :)
After we picked up Ben from his classes we headed to the nearby playground for some slide & swing time!
Although Bry usually adores the swings, today he wasn't so sure...
maybe it was the cute little girls running around on the play scape that were distracting him!
(he kept wanting to play with them- it was so sweet :)

Heading down town on the ocean side green belt.
We love living so close to this walking path,
for the views of the ocean,
and the relaxing atmosphere-perfect for a light stroll...

Bry loves it for running away from us & chasing the seagulls :)

Just enjoying the Boston Harbor monument as a perfect
"run around in circles until I get dizzy"
play scape!

The monument is actually really neat.
It shows the changes over the 300+ years of history in this Harbor-fun to see how different this exact spot was back in the early 1700's when the Europeans first reached the Boston area.
