When it rains, it pours...

For starters, I want to say how much I really like rain.
It makes me wanna cuddle up and read a good book,
or snuggle under a blanket with my little guy and watch a movie.
Rain brings refreshment.
Rejuvenation.
A sense of warmth inside when it's chilling down out.
One thing I missed about living in Idaho was
the summer rain storms in CT.

To say it best, I really like a rainy day,
 once in a while :)

I feel like I have been MIA from a lot lately and feel some explanation in order.
In speaking of how much I like the rain,
the craziness in my life lately hasn't been for the negative one bit,
it's just been A LOT all at once.

Back in May I began running again. A group of my family/friends ran a marathon down in Utah, which I sadly missed out on, but they motivated me to start running again.
It felt AMAZING.
I was running 3 to 4 miles a day (which for me is alot) and absolutely
LOVED IT!!!

The first week in June came and I got a little blindsided from my inability to run anymore.
It was a little bitter and a lot SWEET!
After our miscarriage back in September, Ben and I have been trying to get pregnant,
and it finally happened!!!!

We were ecstatic when we found out.
Here's the little test that proved my nausea, morning sickness and exhaustion wasn't just the flu.

Although I was disappointed in my inability to run anymore (because how sick I was)
I still had such a feeling of excitement and gratitude.
There truly isn't a day that goes by that I am not incredibly
thankful for my body and it's amazing abilities,
especially for the blessing I have to carry a healthy baby.

Pregnancy is wonderful,
it just certainly doesn't come without it's ohh so wonderful treats-nausea, headaches, exhaustion, migraines etc
It's often a struggle to get up in the morning,
knowing I will be spending most of it over the lovely porcelain throne,
all day,
every day.
But at the end of the day I know I am sick because there is a beautiful little baby growing inside me,
and for that I can smile and be so grateful!

16 weeks

17 weeks

                                                                   18 weeks

Almost 20 weeks!!!

Ben, Bryson and I also...
moved out of Ben's parents house,
moved all our belongings into storage,
 drove across the country,
traveled to Florida for a little family reunion,
flew back to Connecticut,
moved into my parents house for a few months,
found out we are expecting our little one to arrive on January 25th,
experienced extreme all-day sickness,
went on pretty much bed rest,
apartment searched,
visited Ben's school,
took a family beach trip to Block Island and Rhode Island
got an apartment in south Boston!!

and now we're just waiting...
for Ben to start school,
find out what we are having- boy or girl,
move into our apartment- Sept 14th,
settle in, enjoy some peace & quiet, and finally have a little just the three of us time :)

This summer has been stressful,
a little crazy at times,
but still amazing,
after all we ARE still living the dream!!

Boston here we come!

Bry's 2nd Birthday

Little B's birthday celebration started off with a few tears-
he wanted his presents right then,
 and not a second later!
...ohh toddlers ;)

But Aunt Hols and his present opening cheered this little 2 year old up fast!

Bry has developed a little obsession with all the Toy Story characters,
 especially Buzz Light-year.
He walks around the house saying "to infinity and BEYOND!!"
and loved opening his new life-size buzz :)

When we were in Florida, we celebrated Bryson's birthday with the Hessings.
When he went to blow out his candles he got a little too close
and burned his lip on the candle.
So he was a little skeptical about blowing the candles out, so I gave him a little assistance :)

            My dearest Bryson,
I can NOT believe you are already two!!!
It has been sooo fun to watch you grow up!
I am the luckiest Mom in the world to have such a sweet, loving little Boy!!
I look up to you more than you know and hope to be more like you each day :)
Daddy and I love you soooo much and hope to become the parents you deserve!
You are our SUNSHINE!!
Thanks for being such a good boy and we wish you the best for another year full of
fun,
 learning,
 exploring,
 laughing,
 dreaming
 and playing! xoxo
            Love forever and always,
                      Mom

A little catch up to do

I think it might be time for a little catch up...
so here goes :)

After packing up all our stuff, shipping 15+ boxes 2500 miles away,
and saying our goodbyes to all our friends and family, we packed up our car to the very tip top-of all things too fragile to ship (thanks Hunter & Kana, Bri & Merrit for the help) and drove the 38 hour, 2500 mile trip.

I did NOT do a good job of documenting our trip (I was really sick the entire trip)-but here's a few pics of what we saw...

Crossing the Mississippi river

Crazy art near the border of Nebraska and Iowa

I just thought this sign was funny and a little bit of how we felt -that we were in the middle of no where

Although it was quite the little adventure, I do NOT have ANY desire to make that drive again ANY time soon ;)

We now hale from Connecticut,
until we move up to Boston in September and begin Ben's schooling!
