Now that I finally feel a little better about being caught up from last year, I can enjoy writing about the present! This weekend wasn't as relaxing as I would have hoped, Ben worked almost 34 hours just on Saturday and Sunday :( so Bryson and I definitely missed him a lot! I think the only time we really got to be with him was for church..so that was good at least :)
On Sunday night at 11:30 pm Ben finally pulled in for the night, or so I thought. I was sooooo excited to see him I ran out into the snow with my slippers on just to greet him! But then he explained to me he had to leave, again! Ughh I was so disappointed. But then we figured we should make the best of it and decided to take Bryson and drive around together to finish up the last of Ben's work.
We ended up in Blackfoot around 1 am to finish up a job, putting all the furniture back after Ben had stripped and waxed all the floors earlier that day. While Bryson and I waited (in the car) for Ben to set the alarm inside, a policeman drove up behind us. It made me a little nervous at first because I didn't realize it was a cop and thought it was just some stranger pulling up behind us. He took out his flashlight and began to approach the car when Ben came out. He asked Ben what we were doing here so late. The policemann then proceeded to check inside the car- just to find Bryson sleeping in his car seat. He was a little suspicious that there was a drug deal going down, but we assured him we were only here on a very different kind of business. After he left, Ben realized he didn't even have his work ID with him and we surely were grateful the policeman didn't ask for one and just trusted what we said :) It was a long night!
We finally got home around 3, put Bryson down and headed to bed!
It sure is always an adventure with Ben's work!
On Monday we woke up, got ready for the day and brought Ben up to school. Bryson and I spent most the day at home reading books, playing peek-a-boo and having yelling contests. Bryson has this new thing now where he loves, loves to yell, really, for NO apparent reason, just to simply hear his own voice. He screams in sacrament meetings, at the store, in the car, when he wakes up and while he's playing. Ben and I get such a kick out of him sometimes :) It's funny because sometimes he yells so loud he scares himself and he gets this look on his face and sometimes even starts to cry, until he then realizes it was himself. HahA that's Bryson for ya, just a sweet, silly, I will never be anything but loud, little boy!
Watching a little Celtic's with Mommy and Daddy!
